MENSTRUAL HEALTH AS A PART OF THE RIGHT TO LIFE UNDER ARTICLE 21 OF THE INDIAN CONSTITUTION
Author: Anitha K N

ABSTRACT
Menstrual health is a fundamental but a neglected aspect of women’s health and human rights in India. Although menstruation is a natural biological process, deep-rooted socio-cultural taboos, lack of awareness, inadequate sanitation facilities and poor access to affordable menstrual hygiene products have resulted in systemic discrimination against menstruating persons. This article discusses that menstrual health is constitutionally protected under Article 21 of the Indian Constitution, which guarantees the right to life and personal liberty. Through progressive judicial interpretation, Article 21 has evolved to encompass the right to health, dignity, privacy, education, livelihood, and a clean environment. By analyzing constitutional provisions, landmark judicial precedents, Directive Principles of State Policy, international human rights obligations, and contemporary policy initiatives, this article establishes that menstrual health is not merely a welfare concern but an en

A DYNAMIC CONNECTION EXISTS AMONG BODY MASS INDEX, ENGAGEMENT IN PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND FUNDAMENTAL MOVEMENT SKILL PROFICIENCY
Author: Anusha K G & Kiran G N

ABSTRACT
This research investigated the connections between Body Mass Index (BMI), physical
activity, and fundamental movement skills (FMS) in a cohort of 40 children aged 9 to 10
years. The assessment of fundamental movement skills was conducted using the Test of Gross Motor Development–2 (TGMD-2) as designed by Ulrich, while levels of physical
activity were evaluated through the Physical Activity Questionnaire for Older Children
(PAQ-C), formulated by Kowalski, Crocker, and Donen. BMI was derived from recorded
measurements of height and weight. To analyze the relationships among the variables,
Pearson’s product–moment correlation was utilized. The results demonstrated significant
negative correlations between BMI and both object control and locomotor skills, with
particularly pronounced relationships evident in total locomotor skills (r = –.722, p < .001).
In contrast, physical activity exhibited significant positive correlations with multiple
locomotor skills and certain

MULTIMODAL ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FRAMEWORK FOR BIOMECHANICAL INJURY RISK PREDICTION IN YOUTH VOLLEYBALL ATHLETES: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW AND METAANALYSIS
Author: Basavaraju & Nagaraja Y

ABSTRACT
Background
Youth volleyball athletes are frequently exposed to repetitive jump-landing and cutting
movements that substantially increase the risk of non-contact anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. Biomechanical factors such as dynamic knee valgus, elevated vertical ground reaction force (GRF), and reduced hip flexion have been consistently associated with ACL injury mechanisms. Artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a promising tool for injury risk prediction; however, the effectiveness of multimodal AI frameworks integrating biomechanical and contextual variables in youth volleyball remains insufficiently synthesised.

Objective:
To systematically review and meta-analyze the evidence on multimodal artificial intelligence models incorporating biomechanical and complementary predictors for injury risk classification in youth volleyball athletes.

Methods:
A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted in accordance with PRISMA
guidelines. PubMed, Scopu

MEASURING HUNGER IN INDIA: AN ANALYTICAL PERSPECTIVE ON THE GLOBAL HUNGER INDEX
Author: Dhakshayani M. Dongre

ABSTRACT
According to the 2025 Global Hunger Index (GHI), India is placed 102nd among 123
countries, with a score of 25.8, indicating a ―serious‖ level of hunger. Although India is one of the world‘s largest food producers, persistent challenges such as child undernutrition— reflected in high rates of stunting, wasting, and child mortality—continue to affect its overall performance. Structural issues including poverty, inadequate sanitation, and significant regional inequalities further contribute to the problem. The Global Hunger Index evaluates hunger using four key indicators: undernourishment, child wasting, child stunting, and child mortality. A review of GHI reports from recent years highlights ongoing concerns despite policy interventions and welfare schemes aimed at improving food security. The paradox of modern development is evident in the coexistence of food abundance and widespread hunger. While many countries have achieved overall food sufficiency, unequal distribution o

ABSTRACT
Athletes may use steroids to boost the body's protein production, enhancing muscle mass and strength. They may also use steroids to enhance aggression and be more competitive on the field or in the ring. Similar to any medication, using steroids carries numerous health and career risks. Not every substance that boosts performance is illegal or detrimental to health. For instance, a player may consume a cup of coffee to enhance energy prior to a match or training session. Yet, numerous sports enthusiasts and athletes recognize the misuse of steroids in athletics. Similarly, certain athletes utilize banned stimulants to enhance their
performance in a competition to achieve victory.

THE ROLE OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY IN PROMOTING HEALTHY AGING
Author: Jaiprakash & Hanumant S Jange

ABSTRACT
Evidence suggests that regular physical activity is safe for both healthy and frail older adults. It can reduce the risk of major metabolic and cardiovascular diseases, obesity, falls, cognitive decline, osteoporosis, and muscle weakness. Activities can range from low-intensity walking to more strenuous sports and resistance training. Maintaining independence and preventing disease in older populations are two major benefits of regular physical activity, which has made active aging a fundamental strategy for living longer and better lives. The significance of encouraging mobility throughout life is emphasized in this research as a dependable means of maintaining wellbeing as people age. Societies may foster healthier people that maintain their independence for longer by including physical activity into daily routines and portraying it as a lifetime habit rather than a treatment for old age. In addition to improving people's quality of life, this strategy lessens the overall f

EFFECT OF CORE STABILITY TRAINING AND FARTLEK TRAINING ON ENDURANCE AMONG HANDBALL PLAYERS
Author: KANTHRAJ S

ABSTRACT
 Purpose: To investigate how a combined regimen of core stability training (CST) and
fartlek training impacts endurance performance in handball players, a sport demanding both anaerobic power and aerobic capacity.

 Background: Handball requires intermittent high-intensity efforts with frequent
transitions between offense and defense, relying on both aerobic endurance and anaerobic bursts. Core stability enhances proximal control for distal mobility, improving throwing velocity and movement efficiency, while fartlek training—a variable-intensity aerobic method—boosts cardiovascular endurance and recovery.

 Methods: Male adolescent handball players underwent a 6-week intervention integrating progressive core strengthening exercises (e.g., cross curls-up, side bridges, bird-dog) with fartlek running sessions, compared to regular training controls. Performance was assessed via muscular endurance tests (Bourban test), shoulder mobility/stability (Y Balance Test), and en

WALKING TOWARDS A HEALTHIER LIFE
Author: KISHOR.V

ABSTRACT
Walking is the act of moving on foot at a moderate pace, with at least one foot always
touching the ground. It is one of the most popular forms of physical activity and offers a
surprisingly powerful way to strengthen muscles, bones, and connective tissues. Walking also helps reduce body fat, increase endurance, and improve cardiovascular health. As a lowimpact exercise, walking allows the body to absorb only about one and a half times its weight, distributing the load evenly across the feet and legs. By comparison, running is a high-impact activity, where each foot strike subjects the body to roughly three times its weight. Walking at a brisk pace of three miles per hour or more becomes an effective aerobic workout, repeatedly engaging large muscle groups and challenging the heart and lungs. While walking provides many benefits similar to running, running burns nearly twice as many calories. Therefore, running may be better for weight loss, but walking remains an excellent

THE REINFORCING EFFECTS OF DISTANT FIELD INTEGRATION: INTERDISCIPLINARITY, SOCIETAL VISIBILITY, AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS FOR COMPLEX PROBLEM-SOLVING
Author: Manjula V

ABSTRACT
Interdisciplinary research is widely promoted as a mechanism for addressing complex
societal challenges, yet the social processes through which it enhances science’s broader societal visibility remain insufficiently understood. Drawing on large-scale survey data linked with bibliometric and altmetric indicators, this study examines how two core dimensions of interdisciplinarity—variety (spanning multiple scientific fields) and disparity (integrating cognitively distant fields)—shape the societal visibility of scientific outputs, measured through mentions in news media, blogs, and policy documents. Using publication-level regression models, the analysis reveals positive associations between both dimensions and societal visibility, with a pronounced reinforcing effect when variety and disparity interact. Research that simultaneously spans multiple and distant fields garners substantially greater non-academic attention than research characterized by either dimension alone. This

SPIRITUAL INDIVIDUALISM AND SOCIAL AWARENESS IN THE VACHANAS OF BASAVA AND ALLAMA
Author: Nandan K & Bharat Shilpi

ABSTRACT
This paper looks into the complex connection between spiritual individualism and social
awareness as shown in the Vachana writings of two key figures from the twelfth-century
Sharana movement in Karnataka: Basava and Allama Prabhu. Most existing research has mainly focused on the social reform aspects of the Vachanas or their devotional qualities, but this study suggests that the Vachanas present a unique way of thinking. In this view, a strong focus on personal, direct mystical experiences serves as the base for a strong critique of social structures and a vision of an equal community. By closely looking at selected Vachanas, the paper shows that while both Basava and Allama Prabhu share this common approach, they each follow different paths within it. Basava's poetry shows a way of thinking that tries to turn spiritual understanding into real social changes, especially through the Anubhava Mantapa, and promotes a sense of shared responsibility through the idea of Kayakave

THE INTERRELATIONSHIP BETWEEN GEOGRAPHICAL INDICATIONS PROTECTION AND ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES
Author: Rashmi R & Jyothi Vishwanath

1. ABSTRACT
Geographical Indications (GIs) safeguard traditional knowledge by linking cultural heritage to legally protected commercial identity. In India, these designations are not merely labels but are emblematic of the nation's rich biodiversity and artisanal history. The recent increase in GI registrations since March 2023, with approximately 184 products between April 2023 and March 2025, bringing the national total to 650, reflects growing recognition of their importance.1 However, this developing system of protection faces an existential threat that legal frameworks alone cannot mitigate. Environmental degradation is damaging the essential environmental conditions, like specific soil, climate, and local ecosystems, that give these products their unique and legally recognised characteristics. The escalating climate crisis, characterised by rising temperatures, erratic rainfall, melting glaciers, and unpredictable weather patterns, directly affects the quality and distinctivenes

ANALYZING THE ROLE OF SELF CONFIDENCE IN SPORTS PERFORMANCE
Author: Sanket Vasant Bhandare & N.G.Kannur

ABSTRACT
One of the most often mentioned elements believed to influence sports performance is selfconfidence (SC). While SC is thought to be essential to an athlete's performance, its absence appears to be strongly linked to athletic failure. Therefore, confidence plays a significant role in differentiating great athletes from failed ones in terms of both their performance and mental state. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND LEGAL AWARENESS AMONG WOMEN: COMPREHENSIVE SOCIOLOGICAL STUDY
Author: Seema G.K.

ABSTRACT
Domestic violence represents one of the most pervasive yet under-recognized violations of women's human rights across societies. Despite constitutional guarantees of equality and the enactment of progressive legal frameworks aimed at safeguarding women, domestic abuse continues to persist in both urban and rural settings. The effectiveness of legal remedies is closely linked to women’s awareness of their rights and their capacity to access institutional support mechanisms. The present study examines the nature and prevalence of domestic violence and critically analyzes the level of legal awareness among women. It further investigates the relationship between socio-economic background, education, and reporting behavior. Employing a descriptive and analytical research design, the study draws upon primary data collected from women respondents and secondary sources including legal documents, reports, and academic literature. The findings reveal that although awareness of

ANALYZING THE STRUCTURAL FACTORS AND POLICY INTERVENTIONS SHAPING THE SUGAR INDUSTRY IN KARNATAKA
Author: B. Shyamsundar & K.P. Venkateshagowda

ABSTRACT
Sugar cane growers are not happy with the price announced by the state governments. They allege that the price does not even cover the cost of cultivation of sugar cane. They accuse the state governments of colluding with the sugar millers, who, according to them, fleece the gullible sugar cane growers. For the 2024-25 season, following intense farmer protests in North Karnataka (Belagavi, Bagalkot, and Vijayapura), the Karnataka government intervened to fix a state-mandated price. The effective mandated price for many regions was set at ₹3,300 per tonne (including a ₹100 "additional" component mediated by the state, where the state and mills contribute ₹50 each). In fact, a representative of Karnataka’s farming community alleged for a higher price of INR 3500 on each tonne of sugar cane supplied by the farmer citing higher production and harvesting costs compared to neighbouring Maharashtra. But sugar millers have their own sob story to tell. They complain that the price tha

UGC EQUITY REGULATIONS 2026 — LEGAL FRAMEWORK, CONSTITUTIONAL CHALLENGES, PROTESTS, AND EDUCATIONAL IMPACT
Author: Sunil Kumar S

ABSTRACT
In January 2026, the University Grants Commission (UGC) notified the Promotion of Equity in Higher Education Institutions Regulations, 2026 (hereafter “UGC Equity Regulations 2026”) with the stated aim of strengthening institutional responses to caste-based discrimination in higher education. The regulations replaced the earlier 2012 equity rules with a more comprehensive framework mandating institutional mechanisms — such as Equal Opportunity Centres, Equity Committees, helplines, and monitoring bodies — aimed at curbing various forms of discrimination, particularly caste-based harassment. However, within days of notification, these regulations triggered widespread public debate, protests, and litigation on constitutional grounds. Multiple petitions were filed challenging the regulations’ validity, particularly the definitions of discrimination and the exclusion of formal redressal rights for general-category students. On January 29, 2026, the Supreme Court stayed the implem

RURAL ECONOMY DIVERSIFICATION: PATHWAYS TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Author: K. G .Suresh Kumar

ABSTRACT
Rural economy diversification has become a critical strategy for sustainable development, particularly in regions where agriculture has traditionally dominated livelihoods. With increasing challenges such as fragmented landholdings, declining soil fertility, climate variability, and market fluctuations, dependence on farming alone has proven unsustainable. Diversification into non-farm employment, agro-processing, tourism, handicrafts, small-scale industries, and digital entrepreneurship provides households with greater income stability, resilience, and opportunities for growth. Recent data from India highlights this transformation: the Union Budget 2025–26 allocated ₹1.88 lakh crore for rural development, NABARD’s RECSS 2025 survey reported a 12% growth in non-farm activities, and platforms like ONDC facilitated ₹1,200 crore in rural sales by late 2025. These figures demonstrate the tangible benefits of diversification, including poverty reduction, gender empowerment, and en

BIOHACKING IN SPORTS SCIENCE: ETHICAL, PHYSIOLOGICAL, AND TECHNOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVES
Author: Suresh Kumar N, Basavaraju & Nagaraja Y

ABSTRACT
Biohacking—ranging from DIY genetic tinkering to data-driven dietary tweaks and consumer wearables—has moved from fringe hobbyist culture into domains that intersect directly with competitive sport, athlete health, and performance science. This paper examines biohacking across three interlinked perspectives: physiological mechanisms and evidence (what interventions do and how well they work), technological enablers (tools, wearables, analytics), and ethical/regulatory issues (fairness, safety, consent, detection). We synthesize recent empirical reviews, policy documents, and illustrative cases to (a) clarify terminology, (b) evaluate risks and benefits, (c) summarize current regulatory responses, and (d) propose practical recommendations for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers. Key findings:
some biohacking approaches (e.g., personalized nutrition and wearables) offer low-risk,
evidence-backed gains; others (e.g., gene editing, unregulated DIY genetic modification,
