ABSTRACT
The rapid proliferation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across multiple domains has begun to fundamentally transform the landscape of education, most notably with respect to the professional roles and developmental trajectories of teachers. This paper critically examines the intersection of AI technologies and teacher professional development within the context of 21st century schooling. As intelligent tutoring systems, adaptive learning platforms, automated assessment tools, and data analytics reshape classroom dynamics, the traditional conception of the teacher as a primary knowledge transmitter is being challenged and reconstituted. Teachers are increasingly called upon to function as learning facilitators, data interpreters, digital curriculum designers, and socio-emotional mentors.
