ABSTRACT
The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into education is transforming teaching, learning and research processes at an unprecedented scale. AI-enabled systems such as adaptive learning platforms, automated grading tools and research analytics engines promise to improve efficiency, enhance engagement and expand access to education. Studies indicate that personalized AI learning systems can increase student engagement by up to 95 percent, while automated grading systems can reduce teacher workload by nearly 80 percent. However, alongside these benefits, significant ethical challenges have emerged, including algorithmic bias, data privacy risks, lack of transparency and the potential widening of digital inequalities.

In the Indian context, these challenges are particularly critical given the diversity of learners, linguistic plurality and socio-economic disparities. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 emphasizes the responsible and ethical use of technology
