ABSTRACT
The rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into higher education is transforming teaching, learning, research, and institutional governance. While AI-driven tools such as adaptive learning systems, automated assessment platforms, and predictive analytics promise efficiency and personalization, they also raise significant ethical concerns that demand urgent scholarly and policy attention. This paper examines the transition “from innovation to responsibility” by critically analyzing the ethical challenges associated with the deployment of AI in higher education and mapping emerging trends alongside future trajectories.
The study identifies key ethical issues including data privacy and surveillance, algorithmic bias and discrimination, academic integrity, transparency, accountability, and the erosion of human agency in decisionmaking processes.
