ABSTRACT
The present study, “Voices of Resistance: Feminist Consciousness and Empowerment in
Contemporary Indian Women’s Fiction,” examines the representation of women’s identity, agency, and resistance in selected literary works by contemporary Indian women writers. The study applies feminist theoretical frameworks which include liberal and radical and postcolonial feminism to conduct qualitative analysis of how female characters challenge patriarchal norms while they develop their individual identities. The research uses thematic and textual analysis methods to show different resistance methods which include hidden negotiation and direct opposition while it shows how female identity changes in different social and cultural environments. The findings show that empowerment develops through a series of complex changes which occur because of personal and cultural and structural influences.
