ABSTRACT
Introduction: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a progressive condition with significant
implications for both physical and mental health. While cognitive dysfunction and depressive symptoms are commonly reported, the influence of clinical characteristics on these psychological outcomes, along with the role of life orientation, remains unexplored. The present study aimed to examine how clinical determinants shape cognitive and emotional functioning in patients with CKD to inform targeted interventions.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 100 patients with CKD. Cognitive
dysfunction, depressive symptoms, and life orientation were assessed using standardized instruments. The clinical characteristics included the duration since diagnosis, duration of dialysis, comorbidities, and cause of the disease. Data were analyzed using correlation, independent t-tests, and ANOVA.
