The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 represents a paradigm shift in India’s approach to education, emphasizing flexibility, learner-centric pedagogy, and the integration of vocational and skill-based learning from an early stage. Among its innovative recommendations is the concept of Bagless Days—periodic, structured days during which students engage in learning without textbooks, focusing instead on hands-on activities, local crafts, vocational training, and experiential learning modules. This review-based study critically examines the theoretical underpinnings, practical implementation, and policy implications of Bagless Education within the NEP 2020 framework. Drawing from national and international educational models, the paper highlights how Bagless Education supports the development of 21st-century competencies such as critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, collaboration, and digital literacy. Additionally, it underscores the potential of this approach in reducing ac
